My Limited Edition 05 S-Type V8 Sport Pkg. with XK8 Interior has an in service date of 4/30/2006 is approaching 60,000 miles. When it get to 6-years old on May 1, 2012 would you recommned changing the plugs no matter what (it will probably have about 72,000 miles)?

 

absolutely....you should look at them now to be honest

 

I had mine done at 65k.

 

I thought the factory recommended interval for plugs was 100K?

 

That's right. 100K. I would not do them till nearer but others ignore the Jaguar figure.

 

Every factory set of iridium plugs I've ever had has easily done 100,000 miles with no issues. I changed a set of Denso iridium plugs at 120,000 miles because I knew I would be selling the vehicle within the next six months and new plugs is always a good selling point. But those original plugs still looked brand new. Wouldn't have been surprised if they had gone 150,000 miles or more. In retrospect, I should have left the original plugs in place and returned the new plugs for a refund....
