Really? Why? They're very reliable.

Scrapyard (breakers yard) / ebay are about the only places - new would be expensive if available.

They're likely rather car-specific so match year, engine, etc.

That looks like it could be the connector for the engine control module, but I could be wrong?

Is it the plug you need or the module that plugs in to it?

For the engine control module you will need the engine type and VIN number to identify what one you need.
Here is a link to the official jaguar on-line catalogue where you will find the part numbers you need, however you may need the sufix that was on the original one.
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/
When you have found the part number for your car then go looking for a second hand part on e-bay that has the exact part number as the original. They are over £1k new from jaguar!

If it is just the plug you need then that is not a separate part, it comes with the wiring harness again these are model and VIN number dependant and a new one will cost you more that £1K. (Some are over £4k!!) Your best bet is a brakers yard.

Agreed, but one big problem is most wrecking yards don't save the harnesses. When they pull most components, they typically cut the harness instead of fighting to undo connectors. By the time the parts have been stripped, there isn't much left of the harness. That could be why you're having such trouble finding one, online at least. Most wrecking yards won't have a harness to sell, as it has been cut up.

Probably not much help if in a hurry, but you could talk to a wrecking yard and let them know what you need. If a similar model comes in, they could save the harness for you. But if some times passes, they may have forgotten all about your request and just start chopping up the harness as usual. If you can find a Jag specialist wrecking yard, they might be more inclined to carefully disassemble any connectors and save the harness. But the typical wrecking yard follows the "time is money" plan of attack and the harness gets chopped up.

Yes, I need the plug that connects the engine control module, I need the plug if it comes with the wires and used one not brand new.
