Where can i get a expansion tank
I know there's some on eBay for $150. But I'm wondering where you Jag veterans can tell me where to get a new one for less. Mines the 4.2 STR
$150 not too bad for the "R" apparently. It's in here somewhere: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...-again-144224/
Try Craigslist close to you, under "auto parts." "R" models are uncommon, however plenty of standard examples are around. I don't know if the "R" ones are interchangeable with the normally aspirated ones.
Good luck in your search.

I can tell you from experience to get the best, most expensive tank you can order. The cheap ones will break early and if the lot is bad from China, you will be doing this job a lot. If you find a tank with a manufacturers number REPJ161308, RUN BUBBA RUN. I had two crack in the same place in 5 months. On my third tank and hope this one is from a different lot.
Amazon has them. About 150 each for the good one. Overheating an aluminum part is death to the part in most cases. While you have it out of service, change all the antifreeze. Use the factory numbers to match. Fill it, bleed it, and ride.
