Wiper Motor

Wiper Motor
At 55,800 miles, the wiper motor on my 2003 S-type went out. The wipers would sometimes freeze in midstroke and chatter. Turning off the switch didn't turn them off.
I decided to take on the job. It wasn't that bad. I popped the cover that protects the motor and the wiper assembly from rain. It doesn't require any real fancy tools to remove the wipers, the cover, and the motor.
I used the following:
Small Torx screwdriver
13 mm socket
10 mm socket
8 mm socket
and a flathead screwdriver
to remove the whole assembly and replace the motor.
While you're down there, don't forget to change your cabin filter. May as well, as it is enough of a pain to remove the cover to make it worthwhile to replace the filter as well.
It appears that with influence of Ford, Jaguar maintenance has gotten a little easier.
Now, if only I could find the @#$@#$ oil filter!

Well done!
The oil filter is above the plastic undertray, there are three self tappers at the front and four (I think) 10mm nuts further back, you will need ramps or axle stands to get room underneath.
Once the cover is out the way the filter is tucked up on the right hand side (looking from the front of the car) it is a bit of a pain to get at but not the end of the world.
Have fun!

Hi, I have a 2003 S Type 3.0 engine and need to replace the wiper motor. Any information, advice? There is a video on YouTube that shows having to go inside car, under where the pedals are and remove what looks like some nylon nuts. Is that necessary? Any other links to how to remove this motor?
