Are you supposed to replace the PCV Valve on a 2003 Jaguar S Type with the 4.2 NA engine? I don't believe that mine ever has. No trouble codes or anything, I'm just wondering. It has the large plastic disk shaped valve, not the metal tube kind. If it should be replaced every 20 years or so, does it just pull out of the valve cover after other things are removed or is there a keeper down under it? Any feedback would be good.
I'm sorry for posting similar threads on the same thing before. I got a notice saying it didn't work. How do you delete a thread or post when you make a mistake? Thanks

I talked to a Jaguar tech and he told me that there should be suction when you take off the oil fill cap when the engine is warm and running if the pcv valve is working right. You should be able to feel it with your hand or if you stretch a rag over the hole it will draw it in. Probably the same thing for most cars.
