Default Pcv?

Is there a PVC valve lurking somewhere on my 4.0?

If not, hows that happen?

Thanks!

The Jag V8 uses a calibrated orifice in the valve cover called the 'part load breather' for closed crankcase ventalation...no PCV valve.

Sure does...every 10,000 miles is recommended for a cleaning. Not a hard job.

Thanks!

That is the oddest set of instructions: Check the action of the full load breather with a piece of paper and regardless of what happens, clean the part load breather anyway.

Mine was clean.

Default Full load breather

On the right front valve cover. No pvc, goes directly to air filter feed.

my problem is the orafice on the valve cover is broken, piece missing on largest opening of it. the host cannot clamp on to it, so i get oil leaking when pushing the engine.

without changing the valve cover, is there anything someone has done to rig up a rubber hose or pvc grommet?

thanks

Here is a used valve cover for $30 bucks. OK, $50 with shipping.

Thanks WhiteXKR. Yes i was looking. my engine is A27 and has the selenoids in the front on top of cover. I was reading another thread that 1999 had 2 engines depending on build date, and those valve covers are different in regard to the selenoids

enjoy spring

The pdf shows the location on the XK8. Where is it on the R?

It is the same. On the R, there is just no engine cover to remove. This was written for the 4.0. Maybe someone else can chime in on the breather differences on the 4.2 that you have.
