Default ZF fluid:

Does anyone know if the BMW ZF trans fluid is the same and will work in the Jaguar tranny? The dealership I work for sells BMW so I have access to the fluid for a quarter of the price that Jaguar wants. I imagine being how the ZF trans in BMW and Jaguar are the same the fluid must be the same as well with just a different logo on the bottle! Also, I think I read somewhere that people use Wolfs Head? We also have this in a 55 gallon drum and it's compatible with almost every trans fluid out there. From GM, Ford, Toyota, etc.... Maybe a flush with the Wolfs Head then use the BMW ZF fluid for the final fill???

So, will they do a flush/refill for you, or do they consider the transmission sealed for life and won't touch it like a Jaguar dealer?

Which one do we need, LifeGuard5, 6, or 8?

That is not correct and hasn't been for a few years. Maybe you met an ignorant dealer or are yourself a bit out of touch?

They do recommend changing the fluid at BMW, they drain and fill them as well as drain and fill with new filter depending on what the customer wants

I can get the Wolfs Head fluid free and the ZF fluid around $8 per quart! Perks of being a mechanic and working in a garage!
