Default Oil Filter

I have read a few threads here about which oil to use, but I could not find anything on filters. To be honest, I really don't know much on the subject. In the past, I would always DYI and use a Fram filter. However, the Fram site says the filter for the 2015 V8 S 5.0 is designed for conventional oil. Did not see the Jag Part Number.

Is there a "best" filter? What have people been using?

Thanks,
Mike

I use OEM filter #C2D3670 for my R.

No longer do I try to figure out which aftermarket oil filter spec's out best. I just go with OEM, especially if my car is still under warranty.

Ditto. BTW, I worked for years in the automotive industry selling parts and the standard FRAM oil filter is one of the worst out there.

Uhhhg...and I used to seek out Fram because someone told me they were good. At least I know now.

Thanks to all for the advice! I just ordered the OEM filter. Mike

Same part no. as for the V6. OEM under $30 (with shipping) on eBay. Mahle filter (OEM supplier) are actually more expensive. Fram about the same. Cheapos available under $10 (I think not).

Oldest F-type is now barely 4(?) years old and probably still north of $50K. Why would anyone even entertain the idea of saving 10$ on an engine oil filter that protects $50K asset? Is this time-warped post from 2025? If so, please leave us some stock tips.

I always use OEM on my cars, bike and truck. The cars get serviced by the dealer. The truck and bike I do, but OEM is virtually the same price as aftermarket and I know they'll meet the mfg. spec.

Doesnt make any sense whatsoever.
Most of the OEM jag parts on eBay are sold by jag dealers at about a 20% discount. That's where I first encountered Gaudin online jag parts, purchasing my first filter for the F-Type.
