+1. Shocked the hell out of me. Fully depress the clutch, and it fires right back up.
That has to be a further function of the auto stop/start.
The Anti-stall feature is bizarre to me. For those who haven't tried it, Put your car in first gear while stopped, slowly let out the clutch and keep your foot off of the accelerator pedal and the car will idle forward and not die. It's completely counter-intuitive for a manual transmission.
I've somehow just discovered the "anti-stall" clutch feature in my V6S manual.
Can someone explain to me how it works and how it is useful?

Oh I see. I assume this won't damage anything? Should be useful in traffic.

Once I actually stalled during a green turn light and the start/stop didn't work. Lovely. I recovered well, but without that anti-stall thing, it takes awhile for electrical to turn on the car in that situation.

this car does not have an "auto-stop" or auto-break when you are about to hit something, right? I was parking front-first in a lot with a particularly huge curb, and I swear my car stopped / broke on its own to prevent me from smashing the front end????
Should I assume it was a bizarre marriage of me braking and being weird at the same time, or does this car have that technology? I think this is a very stupid question, BTW....

I'd be %99 sure that you hit the curb lol the f-type does not have this feature

If your door was not fully shut and you put it in drive, the car will start to move and then suddenly drop into "Park". Can be pretty jarring. Maybe this is what happened?

I've absent mindledly fiddled with the park switch, once or twice. Yes... that is quite jarring. I think you are being too kind, and it was likely because I had just been driving my "no brakes" Jeep to storage, and the difference needed in braking is severe. Mental memory got confused, likely. =)

Today, I learned that my trunk expertly fits two technics and a mixer, including a vacuum tube amp to play music very, very loud. No I didn't set it up... just moving temporarily for a quick renovation (quick?).
But quite fun to know if I ever hit the playa again (silly festival tho it was). However, I don't imagine I would want to see what the silicate duststorms would do to the paint job. =) Or the a beach party. Seriously... this is going to happen out of my trunk sometime. So fun. =)
I've only had my car for 10 days. I read my owner's manual the first night after I got home, but there are two cool things I learned that aren't mentioned.
1) The first time I got in the car when it was dark (which was the first night driving it home after a fuel/food stop) the Engine Start/Stop Button is backlit red and pulsates like a "heartbeat" when you get in with the keyfob in range.
2) I noticed the screensaver was selected as the "leaper" Jaguar logo in the setup menu, but I thought that this only applied when you start the car. I found out if you press the hard wired/permanent power button (bottom left next to the Nav screen, I think) It permanently displays the "leaper" screensaver! And the music still plays! If you press the power button on the volume knob on the console....that turns off the audio. Also, if you press that power button again after the leaper logo, it completely turns off the NAV screen while still allowing audio. I love leaving it on the leaper logo because I don't like the looks of the "home screen" on the NAV/infotainment screen.
Dark screen is "stealth mode" for those dark nights when you don't want to be distracted by anything. You can program some of the home-screen soft buttons. I have 1 set to 'Take me home" on the nav, another is a short-cut to cameras: manually turn on the rear camera. On dark cold nights when the exhaust is visible I like to select the rear view and tell my passenger "I'm checking the afterburners."

X2. I briefly thought about loading a few CD's but first I would have to find them, second i don't have any music from the past 8 years on CD, and I couldnt think of a CD I wouldn't get bored with listening to the whole thing. Just use my iPhone.
I used to get very fustrated in traffic. Volvos and Volkswagons especially seemed to annoy me. I would change lanes to keep from driving behind a Volvo because I knew they were going to do somthing to annoy me somewhere down the road.
Then I discovered books on CD. Traffic was no longer fustrating. Volvos were no longer beasts to be hated only boxes to be weary of.
I would just ride along or stop dead in traffic and listen someone read a good book to me.
I prefer Books on CD because they are much easier to maneuver within than audio books downloaded to an audio player.
I also prefer books with female authors or female protagonists because I prefer to be read to by what I always imagine to be a very attractive young woman.

They are called valves, Uncle Fishbits.... A vacuum tube is something that you use with a Dyson!
So a couple of times I have put the car in park and at the same time taken my seat belt off, and I swear it stopped the engine automatically. But it is not consistent.
What's the secret decoder ring for this 'feature' ?
This morning I paid attention to what happened when I parked at work. ECO on. Putting in Park and setting brake turned engine off. Unbuckling the seat belt turned the car off.

Yes, I keep forgetting about <to manually turn OFF> that stupid feature...
Probably was, since I don't have ECO mode....
My mind goes crazy on ALL the extra things the vehicle software COULD do... like recognize keys and set memory positions (like most other brands these days)...
RemoteApps via bluetooth - why use hardwired only?
