Default Stingray71 - thanks Wofgang Paint Sealant is Amazing

Around a week ago, Stingray71 recommended a paint sealant Wolfgang 71. It recieved several endorsements from other members so I decided to try it.

WOW -this stuff works wonders, I wanted to say Thank You. It really works, shine is amazing, no streaks, and easy to apply.

I had never used a paint sealant before, wish I knew about this stuff years ago.

Dan, wish I had thought to do so. Didn't expect anything this nice or i would have.

Gosh I had "prime directives" like: never use silicon, never use anything that doesn't come from nature, only use cotton towells hammered into my head so many times back in the 80s and 90s (e.g.anyone remember Zymol back when they were getting started and their rules and advice? Hell, anyone selling a wax that cost $1,500.00 per canister must be the expert right? [laughing at myself])

Well i admit it things have progressed quite a bit. Guess its time for me to wake up and get with 21st century advances.

We'll get the photos next time.

John,
I'm glad to hear that it worked well for you. I also use Wolfgang Uber compound to polish before applying the sealant. I've included a few pictures of my car after polishing.

Question?: Do you have to compound buff and/or remove all old wax before application of the sealer?

It is highly recommended for best results.
The paint sealant is not a cleaner. It is a protective coating to help give a glossy coat and protect against dirt and other road film.
The real "shine" is achieved by polishing the clear coat so that it is completely clear of scratches, swirls and hazing.

See this link and post #7 for a good picture that shows the difference.
removal of old wax, before new wax - required?
