I'll just add that the Waze app has really been a game changer for me
I agree regarding Waze
I've been using a combo of Escort 9500 & Waze - and it's proven to be a great combination.
One question for those using Waze:
Are you able to use Waze through Bluetooth, so you can hear it over the radio speakers? - I'm able to do this with a few of my other vehicles and love it.
Don't have my vehicle yet so I've been unable to experiment.
re waze plays through when you use media on your iphone- ie playing iTunes or Pandora- it will not work if your using radio or cd
I need to double check but I believe Waze will play over the radio if you are connected via bluetooth from the iPhone. The message display by the speedometer will say call active everytime Waze/Navigation has a message. If you connect the phone through the USB, it does not play over radio. Not sure how non iPhone works.

You have to select the option of playing through speakers via Bluetooth on the Waze app. The choices are car speakers or phone speaker. I prefer the phone speaker.
If you do have an older device, you may be able to contact V1 and have it replaced with a newer unit....just let them know it drains your battery and this is a known defect in the original versions.
To me, I don't like the OP's set-up with both the remote and the V1. There is no need for a Remote V1. Now all you have is two devices instead of one. Plus the wires are visible from both units.
I mount my V1 on the left-hand side of the mirror. It fits PERFECTLY there, and the power cord is on its right-hand side, so it feeds perfectly out of view as to be invisible. Can I adjust the mirror easily? Check! Can I use my visor easily? Check! Can the suction cups hold it in place there? Check! Can I get a clean signal from the rear-facing receiver? Check!
As for viewing, it is out of the way, but immediately visible in your periphery if it goes off in that location.
I've never had a car that the V1 fits so perfectly. It's fit is IDEAL for an F-Type.

Thanks for the pic. Are you using the plug in cord or did you hard wire? Can you post a pic of the right side so I can see the power cord. It looks like you just used the suction cup mount. Any issue with temp changes and it falling off?

I hard wired it. The plug goes into the right side of the V1, so it's virtually invisible in that location. If you look closely, you can see the wire going into the rear view mirror covering. Yes, suction cups will hold it in place for a very, very long time. Just make sure both the glass and the cups are clean, get all glass and no black dots, and that's that.
BTW, if other cars are driving you nuts by triggering your V1 radar with their side and rear monitoring systems (they use k-band radar), this will eliminate 90% of that...
Actually for the Jaguar F-Type Valentine says to disable Feature G, using that procedure. I have done so but have not had a chance to road test it yet. Seems better around town but that is not a good test.
I have the V1, and plan to hard-wire once I get my car back. I had it updated to the latest version when I got the F-Type and found that I get lots of junk K signals. I'll play with the options settings and see if it helps. Most of them seem to be at specific locations though, so I assumed they were things like residential alarms, commercial automatic doors, etc.
Most of the doors and such are X-band. I was getting a lot of junk on K from other car BSM's and cruise control radar, which Valentine says their junk filter gets. They told me about the G mentioned above for my problem, but I still cannot confirm that my problem has been resolved. I have a road trip next week so I will see.
