I recently posted about a new BLACK XK8 I had bought. Had some issue and returned to dealer. And I found a much better one. From Hornburg's on the Sunset Strip via a Beverly Hills housewife and the inside is really like new. It was the only one I saw while looking that had perfect seats. Needs brakes and a few hoses and maybe shocks but the mounts have been done and always Hornburg serviced. 19" Apollo rims (I'd swap for stock anyone?) and 30mm spaces that are coming off tomorrow. 85,000 miles. Paid $9,800.
Here are some pics.

What size are they. I'd like the stock 17" or 18" - anyway the tire/rim combo for best ride and tire economy, not performance. Probably 17". The tires on my 19" are OK but probably only 33% life left.

Let me check- I *think* they are both 18s. I *MAY* have a set of non chrome revolvers (17s) that I would gladly throw in to sweeten the trade, I just need to see if they are presentable.
The first set are 18s, the second set (5 spoke) are 17s. I also have a set of non chrome revolvers in good shape I can throw in, but the tires on those are unusable.
My wife's 2006 XK8 was also sold new from Hornburg Jaguar on the Sunset Strip to a Beverly Hills trophy wife. Glad to hear they still sell good specimens there....
I just last week did all new cermic pads and drilled rotors on my 03, fairly easy job, the rears are a bit of a PIA due to the ebrake shoes but doable. Cleaned up my calipers while I was at it, painted them silver. Complete job took me about 4 hours.
Thanks. I see the ads. I do need the electric brake pads and rear pads but found out front has been done and rotors are good so I may just get what I need for now, even though that is tempting at such a good price.

Suggest you swap to the ceramic pads on the front if not already done. The metallic pads normally installed give off an excessive amount of dust and are only needed for performance driving to reduce brake fade. However the ceramic pads do not disapate heat as well so drilled rotors are recommended when making the switch to ceramic pads.
I am finding the ceramic pads work just as well on my car.
Yes, $300 for a new set of rotors and pads is about the cheapest repair you will find for these cars!
Here's a pic of my freshly painted calipers and new rotors
Beautiful car- nice find and a good price for the condition!
I may be open to a trade- what wheels were you looking for specifically?
I have these (decent condition, chrome but not perfect):
and these (great condition, except in Chrome):
Before I decide what to do can you tell me the ride quality difference between the OEM 17" and the 18"? What make or name of rim came as original equipment and are there 17" or 18" Apollo rims to match what I have now and do all the rims come in chrome and a brushed finish?
This is a lot to ask I know but have not found much searching.
Ride quality is pretty subjective- I don't notice any difference between the two but one is a coupe and one convertible so...
I don't think there was a *single* OE rim, they came with like six different wheel options I think but I will let the more knowledgeable guys chime in. I think they all came in either chrome or regular painted.
Do the apollo rims come in 17 or 18? I haven't a clue. No rush to trade I am happy with the status quo, let me know if you are interested.
Check pages 12-13. I wouldn't put 17" wheels on myself, the ride diff would be negligent (adjusted via air pressure) and the 18s would make the wheel well look fuller

The brochure you attached give only one tire size for the 2004 19" rims, 235/55. The plate on car says 245/40 front and 255/40 rear?
I have removed the spacers and today I will see if it feels different. Maybe with a tire like the Bridgestone SERENITY the 19's will give a better ride. With the spacers and the old worn tires the ride was surprisingly rough.
