Might consider converting over to X308 units ( and mounting bracket ) for the have a much better reflector and the glass may be better and are the same size . 350 headlights are different . Small wiring modification required . Spray some oil into the palls that hold in the unit into the bracket and pry with a long screwdriver . Keep track of the up / down / side orientation before removal . With a darlington switch and electric tea candle led as a triger you can make it twinkle as an option . I planed on making it white switching to red color because it ts a Jaguar ( Jaguar Eyes not Angel Eyes )

i thought about switching to x308s but then i would have risking shattering the glass to put in the led rings so what i was going to do was buy what ever size the headlight with the led ring already installed and cut off the back of the shroud and put the projector in that.

Do the X308 have a seam that can be separated between the glass front and plastic reflector like the X300 ? I was planning on using light diffusing plastic around the chrome ring anyway with very little beam aim wiggle clearance . Wasn't planning on a lot of red lamination , just enough .

Exclamation Front facing colored lights other than amber are often illegal.

In many (all?) US states it is illegal to display (or even have the capability to display) a red light on the front of a civilian on-road vehicle, and as well to display several other colors such as blue or green.

There are a lot of colored kits and bulbs certainly out there that can be purchased, but that doesn't mean you won't fail an inspection or receive a citation.

Again, some laws specify not just the act of displaying, but the capability such as multi-colored marker lights, so you may run the risk of not being allowed to drive the car away from a citation unless you can disable or remove them.

Just something to be aware of....

Back on the topic of converting the headlights to projectors, I think there is at least one very detailed thread in the X308 forum where an owner installed projectors in the X308 lenses.

.

Good point that was considerd but not researched yet . Red my be for parking lot only with a switch or wire to pull on demand .

I will look up the X308 projector bulb conversion .

Those lights are beautiful, those would be great with a glossy black paint, how much did they cost?
