Can you tell me what parts you used. This is very interesting. Some of the parts I would have no idea what they are.

The pipe is polyethylene(HDPE) and the filter housing is of poly vinyl Chloride pipe with a diameter of 160 mm. In a 160 mm end cap a hole made of 115 mm for the pipe. Diameter inlet filter is 115 mm. After the elbow piece go from 115 mm. with fitting to 83 mm.

Mine is now updated with a piece of aluminium bend instead of the back plastic thing so is as straight as possible.

dfieldsend, wow! that is quite a detailed engine compartment! Do you have more shots of the engine including the cam cover? Is the intake manifold powder coated or polished?

Did you move your electric fans to the other side if the radiator? It took me a minute to notice something was missing since I was looking at all the eye candy. I do not think I have ever seen such an upgraded-detailed engine compartment on a X300, great job!

Its an oldish pic - the fans are off and so is the other pipe onto the oil catch can (bottom right)
Currently radiator is off as well as I'm fitting a new one with hand made cooler pipes for the gearbox and power steering connections. Once i've finished fitting the custom fuel tank and run the front the back fuel lines, i'll get back to finishing off the engine bay.
(All metal is polished BTW)

I know this is an old post but wouldn't an aluminum intake absorb more engine heat making intake hotter?
