Try tightening any bolts you can access first. It may be something easy.

I had all the bolts removed, except the last one, and when I got to it I found that it was totally loose (without its rubber grommet, it would have fallen out). Since I’d gone to all the effort, and had the parts, I replaced the gasket.

You also will need to remove the injectors. Depending on how many miles and history, It might be worth replacing the injectors too to save you pain down the road.

THAT is a HUGE and EXPENSIVE job to undertake on a 5.0 engine. Certainly not an easy DIY.

One word of caution: make sure you use a penetrating oil to let the fuel injectors soak for several days prior to attempting to remove them. Some require over a hundred strokes with the slide hammer to get them to come out of their bores, but others may come out with the fuel rail.

It annoyed me because a previous owner had to replace the gaskets TWICE in 5 years or so. Both times just replaced the injector seals. A set of injectors from ROCKAUTO is like 1600 NZD so about 950 USD. Seems worth it for me.
