Default Valve Cover Question

I just finished timing tensioner swap and when putting valve cover back I noticed this bolt. Checked the service manual and other resources but can’t find an answer.

what is this for? Seems to be part of the integrated PCV system.

It might help if you actually included your model year and engine size Luis.

Or even better add it to your signature so you don't have to repeat yourself...or else your reliant on the experts trying to deduce if 4.2 or 5.0 and NA/SC

Help us to help you....PLEASE!

It's weird... his profile says (typod) XK 2007 and then 2015, but then the Picture included is of a 2010-2011. Very cryptic.

Sorry gents,
2010 XK NA, 59k miles.

just not clear in that this is. Seems to be part of the PCV system on the driver side valve cover.

Nothing in NP10 doc or the service manual.

If you're speaking of the brass threaded insert, mine has nothing in it either. Just a threaded hole for no reason.

Thanks Cee Jay, does yours have the bolt installed or is it exposed?

Completely empty threads. It may be for either the manufacturing process / logistics or assembly.

Usually something like that serves a propose on another vehicle.

It may be used for a bracket or something on a Land Rover.

The blue holes below serve no purpose on my 4.2 XKR, but they may on another vehicle.
