It's been a few years but I used Craggs Commercial Paintshop in Quarrington Hill to refinish the front of my 2001 XK8 Coupe after it was hit by a flying traffic cone on the A1(M):

Craggs Commercial Paintshop for Auto Body Repair Durham

Tony is still there. Not the quickest but the quality was excellent at a fair price. If I needed to arrange repairs or paint myself, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to him.

At the other extreme, Stratstone Jaguar in Houghton-le-Spring did a warranty repair to a patch of corrosion on the front wing of my current XK Coupe last November. The bodyshop is Evans Halshaw Accident Repair Centre in Gateshead which does both trade and private repairs. Excellent work but, as it was warranty, I didn't see a bill for this.

Thanks Graham for the recommendations,
Craggs Commercial Paint Shop sounds like the place for me,
I will check it out and see what they say.

Knowing what you could be getting into may be useful. If it's corrosion, have a look at threads by RaceDiagnostics. Whatever can or does rust on an XK8, Jim has been there and fixed it!

I do recall Tony was difficult to get hold of on the phone and I ended up driving over to see him.

Well went over to Craggs (i think)
Looking at the premises it looks to be closed down, no signs or advertisement's anywhere, web site not accessible, phone number just cuts off when prompted to leave a message. (shame as only 6 miles away)
So i found a place in Middlesbrough called " Premier Bodyworks " and their web site shows a jaguar XK8 in for body restoration.

Has any members had work done by them ?
and if so, what was there experience like using this company.

About 3 year's ago i took my XKR to Elite + Performance Jags in Derby to have one of their stainless steel cat back exhaust's fitted (wow what a sound),
i know they do body work restoration (but it's a long way for me to travel )
Has any members had any body work done by them and if so, what was there experience like using this company.

Thanks for any help on this.

How strange. The link to Craggs was working when I posted it.

Here's one at Meadowfield which could be worth an enquiry and save travelling:
