Members in the South East will be well aware of the removal of Toll Booths at the Dartford Crossing but others who only use it for accessing the Channel Ports when going on holiday need to be aware of the new charging arrangements in place from 30th November 2014.

I only use the Dartford Crossing to get to Eurotunnel two or three times a year but chose the option to setup an account with the minimum £10. The system allowed me to register both my vehicles so there is no need to remember to change details depending on which one I use.

The charging scheme is being managed by SANEF who also operate the autoroute tolling in France. I have a SANEF Liber-T tag for automatic charging on the autoroutes. There was a suggestion these may be extended to include the Dartford Crossing. I have contacted SANEF and they confirm this is NOT going to be implemented.
