jag tech in San Diego?
navyman24, have you had the recall done on your car? If I remember right, the S-Types where recalled for a poorly manufactured gas tank seal around the fuel pump/level indicator. I recall a different post about this very problem. You can access the top of the gas tank by removing the rear seat and then removing a metal cover (passenger side). If I remember the post correctly, the factory retaining ring is black, the recall (new) ring is grey). You will also be able to smell the gas as this point to help narrow down where your problem is. Not a hard thing to get to, but does require removing the rear seat bottom.
Wish I was still active duty stationed in Pearl. My ship spent more time in San Dog than in Pearl. Go figure. I would tell you the next time I would be in port and then we could meet up. Gotta love pulling in and out of Point Loma. But, those days are gone as I retired back in April. Sorry that I can't help you with a local Jag dealership. Isn't there a Jag dealership out on I-5 just north of Rosecrans (I know there was a Hummer dealership, Ford, Chevy, etc in that area).

navyman24,
You can try Cush Jaguar in Kearny Mesa. I think it's on Convoy Blvd. There is an independent technician shop in Mission Valley near I-5 and the I-8 interchange. I don't remember the name though.

Cush is dropping Jaguar sales and service as of December 31st, if I recall the date correctly. When I last checked with them several weeks ago, they believe someone else will pick up Jag from Cush in the San Diego area, but nothing had been firmed up as of yet.
Until then, is there anybody else qualified for Jag service in the greater San Diego area?

Apparently, Hoen Motors in Carlsbad is going to pick up the service slack until Penske Group opens a new Jag dealer in Kearney Mesa, expected in March/April - Just repeating what I read on the web today.

I think Wesloh is the Carlsbad is opening a Jag dealership. I heard that the service and parts dept opened this summer with the new cars arriving later this fall.
I have had good luck with Jags Unlimited in San Marcos.

Go see Mike at Jaguar Specialists off the I-5 near Pacific Beach. They are AMAZING, AFFORDABLE and RELIABLE! Everyone that I know who has a Jag takes it there.
