Default trim rings

I have a 2003 XK8 and have a good amount of curb rash on the wheels. Just wondering if there are any aftermarket trim rings that could be added to hide the scrapes and bumps that are visible.

I found this after some searching.

I wonder how/if these rings would fit and stay on?

thanks Mat. My rims are not the fancy ones that come with trim rings. I just wanted to find some aftermarket kit that would hide the curb rash, and cost less than refinnishing my wheels. My XK8 is a daily driver so i prefer not to spend too much on new rims or repairing my old ones.

Buy a used set off ebay and if they need it you can refinish them yourself for less then fifty buck.Clean,Fill, sand, prime, paint and clearcoat.I have done it to my other cars and its an afternoon job.

Refinishing can be done yourself, or about $125 per wheel from the pros around town.

Then after that, you'll be a little more careful around those curbs at Burger King's drivethru. good luck alfred

Default warm weekend

So, the weather warmed up here in Ontario, and I went to work and started repairs of the curb rash on the rims. I decided to take the wheels off the car, and repair/paint the whole wheels (with tires on). This is a bit more work, but I think the final result will look better. I'll take a few pics and post when I'm done.

Default all 4 wheels repaired!

Well, it took all weekend, but I got all 4 rims repaired and painted. Here are some pics of the process. As described in previous posts, lots of cleaning required, even had to clean the rubber to allow the masking tape to stick. A few things to remember... use a quality mask, anything on the rim left shiny will not let the paint stick... final sanding with 400 or finer to prevent any scratches from showing through the paint. Only attempt if you have spray painted metalic before. Two coats of color, two coats of clear, and they look new.
