19 MPG on X-Type is this normal?
I was wondering if average19 MPGnormal for 02' 2.5L X-Type?
Mostly city driving, but i dont put the pedal to the floor. Highway gives me 23 MPG!!! Recently i had LEAN fuel engine code just once.
Sometimes, when it's cold in the morning.. right after strart up car is acting like its misfiring for a minute or so.. and after that it runs OK, and doesnt show any codes...
Is it my Oxygen sensors? Or something else is at fault? Any ideas?
Thank you.

19 is great for MPG considering i get only about 13-15 on my 05! As for the misfire, i doubt it's your oxygen sensor most probably sparkplugs....how many miles on it and when was the last tune up...might consider a fuel injector cleaning too...
I'd go with what racer said but i'd say your 2.5 should get a little bit better in the city. My 3.0 on the highway doing no faster than 80mph and 60-65 on regular roads with slow acceleration was averaging 28 (although that was going off of the trip computer which I hear isn't very accurate) now that I'm driving all city its about 19 overall with letting the car run for a while to warm up especially now since the new baby is here. For a 2.5 manual you should get better gas mileage, but hey maybe its just you and I that agree on this one...Oh wait you are automatic or manual? I was assuming manual until I looked down and you didn't state either way...if your auto 19 might not be too horrible...
I have aoutomatic transmision. I have 64,XXX miles on it. Just checked the codes on thecomputer:
P0171 -Bank 1 combustion too lean
P0174 -Bank2 combustion too lean
Misfire codes
P0301 -cylynder #1
P0305 -cylynder #5
P0306 -cylynder #6
P1316 -Misfire excess emission
and
P1000-If DTC P1000 is flagged after DTCs have been cleared, all engine management OBD diagnostic monitor drive cycles HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLETED.
So it might be Oxygen sensors or coils... but i am not sure which one.
RacerX85 how do i clean fuel injector? Just by spraying stuff air intake? or something more complicated?

I'd say your about average, there or therabouts. I reckon I get about the same when in city mode, and not as much as I'd like when in Highway mode, although to be fair I haven't had a real chance to do some serious miles on the highway to get a really accurate comparison.
If you're gettin misfiresand lean codes, obviously there's a problem that needs further investigation.

Pretty sure those are actually rims on there jimbob. They are kind of weird but they are really cool when the car is moving-they kind of make like a wave look when rolling down the road, words can't really describe you'd have to see it for yourself. The fuel injector cleaning he is speaking of jag dealers do, the dealer I had work done on mine in novi, mi was just under $200 it was also part of normal maintenance that jag does, I think?.

Thought that myself Aquill........lol.....but I dont think I ever saw a Jag with them before........as you say, Kinda weird lookin, but different I guess

Those are rims 18'. Had them for a year or so, car was a head turner everytime... looked very cool when they are clean and are moving.. but was rubbing on the right rear, so i went back to original 16'5 spoke Jaguar wheels. As for bad fuel... i tried putting "HEAT" in the tank.. thinking water in the gas.. but nothing helps so far.. so i am replacing oxygen sensors and probably will takethe car to a shop for injector cleaning.. (next Jag dealer is 2 hours away)
Here is another pic for you guys:

I've seen a few pairs of those rims on a handful of cars here in michigan. They are sweet looking moving that is for sure...standing still you kind of are confused but as soon as that sunlight hits em and your moving they definitely grab attention!
