2 issues keyless entry / alternator??
I've had my 03 2.5 x-type for about a year and have no troubles until recently.
First my keyless entry no longer works. i tried changing the battery in the key, but it still doesnt work.
Second, today while trying to start my car i noticed that i needed to turn the key with what seemed like a little extra effort. The engine did start up but could this simply be a problem with the battery or is it possibly the alternator?

Once the battery goes dead in your FOB it needs to be re-programed....(check on of my post, i have detailed instructions as to how that is done, if not, the dealer will charge 100 bucks)
As for your extra effrt in the car starting....I'm not really sure what that means.....engine cranked longer than normal?

Thanks. How do I find the post on programming the FOB? I'm new on this site.
As for the other problem, in terms of the car starting, it just doesn't feel like its going to turn over at all. Just like there is no "juice" to speak ok.

RacerX: not to hold your &^@#$% but is there anything you dont know about Jaguars?
So could i buy a key and key fob from ebay and program it myself? and not have to pay the dealer $150?
