I have a question, I'm looking at an 02 x type with 130,000 miles, 3.0 awd. I'm trading it for an 02 lancer i have that has a rebuilt title and 138,000 miles and that I only paid 2,000 bucks for. Anything I should look for or avoid about this car? I might just turn around and resell to make money but I miss my S type. Just wondered what you guys thought.

 

99snake, I would take it for a test drive. As long as the driveline is quiet, then I would do the trade. Most of the other common problems people have are pretty easy and cheap to fix. The other thing to check is to make sure that the motor will rev over 3,000 RPM. But, you should also see a big yellow CEL light on the dash too.

 

Ok thanks. I drove it last night and he is taking it on a 5 hour drive today so they must have some trust in it. I'm checking it out again this week.
