2002 X-type best deal ever now what?
Greetings from the sunshine state,
I am new to this forum and community of awesome people! I bought a 2002 Jaguar X-type 2.5 with 120000 miles for $1800 on craigslist. Surprisingly, The engine and transmission runs nice and smooth. The interior and exterior is in great shape as well so I would like to believe I got the best deal ever. As I inspect every aspect of the car I did notice a few things and I am well aware these are common problems so I'd like to share what I am going to do in case this is helpful to anyone with similar situation.
Problem:
Cooling fan module is bad causing overheating due to fans being off.
Solution:
Nationwide Auto Recycling
has the cooling fan module or as they call it "Cooling fan chassis computer" for $75 + $15 shipping
Problem:
Check engine light for bad downstream oxygen sensors
Solution:
I went on ebay and found some Denso 234-4798 Oxygen sensors for $50 each. 2 required
Problem:
Speedometer doesn't work.
Solution:
I don't know but it started working again.
Problem:
Two front tires are worn (this has nothing to do with the car but everyone needs tires at some point)
Solution:
I bought 2 new Kumho tires on Kumho 2156043 205/55R16 for $138
I hope this was helpful
