Hi y'all. I've got a 2002 x-type automatic with 90000 Kms. I've ran into an issue I hope you can help me with. Just yesterday while accelerating onto the motorway I suddenly lost power. It felt like the clutch failed and it was struggling to go into gear. After putting it in neutral and cruising for a bit, I put it in drive and well it moves.
issue is its guzzling more fuel and when I go I to high revs it has no power.
I'm worried it's transmission issue.
​​​​​​im actually hoping it's the transfer case. I should add that there's been a vibration at about 40kms which I think is a loose bearing which only happens rarely. And Im pretty sure the transfer case is using old oil.
any advice would be appreciated.

 

Malikai, what you are describing could be a few things. Do you have a check engine light on? If so, get the codes read at your local auto parts store and then post them here. That will help narrow down the possibilities. The second thing I would ask is when the last time your fuel pump filter was changed. If you do not know or it has been a number of miles, then replace that to see what you have then. After that, we are most likely looking at something with the ignition system which would be most likely shown by the fact that you have water and/or oil in the plug wells. But, this would also tend to be associated with a check engine light with a P030X code (where X is a cylinder number).
