Does anybody know if the 17x7 rims from a 2008 x-type will fit a 2002 x-type that came with 16x 6.5 rims? I know I'll have to watch the tire size so that it doesn't affect the speedo. I'm more worried about clearance. Thanks in advacnce for any light you can shed on this.

 

They will bolt right on, no clearance issues the 17" wheel is nowhere wide enough or does it have enough negative offset. If i can run 19" u should be fine

If you are looking at replacing the 16s why not look for 18s off a sport? Unless you are getting the 17s for nothing, the difference is noticable both performance and visually.

 

The 16's on the wifes car have peeling chrome and a crack. I had found a new set made in Hungary for $175. Looks like I have more options now. Thanks for the info.
