2003 Jaguar x-type ringing in cabin

That is the sound of the small aspirator fan for the climate control - located to the right of the steering column, behind a small grille. This fan begins to run when you pull the driver's door handle and remains in operation for a half hour or so after the engine is shut off...and this is indeed normal. Sometimes the fan gets noisy, principally when loaded with dirt sucked in over a period of years. It can be removed and cleaned and this often reduces the noise.

+1 for the in-cabin temperature / humidity sensor. Google part # C2S13944 for pictures, for example: https://www.terrysjag.com/category/X...nd-Sensor.html

Now that you know the source of the noise, you could respond to passengers with: "What ringing sound? I don't hear any ringing sound."
