Default 2003 X-Type Engine Dead/Help!

anyway, since I bought this car in 2008 I've had nothing but problems. Now the car at 70,000 Miles crapped out and needs a whole new engine.

Yeah, lucky me.

Anyway, wondering if you guys know where I can get some Xtype 2.5 Engines for a good price so I can put it in and sell this car off and be done with it. Any help is appriciated.

NATIONWIDE AUTO RECYCLING has a '03 2.5 listed for $1400, 57,000 miles in running order. They deal in mostly foreign low mileage cars. I bought my cooling fan replacement from them for a good price and just used the control module which is all I needed. They seem to be honest in their dealings.

What's the cause of the failure? I mean if the block is good you could rebuild the motor, but if the block is cracked or something then you'd have to get another.

That being said, I believe you would save some cash just swapping out motors rather than doing a rebuild.

And, you might want to drive it for awhile after you get it fixed, at least try to get some use out of it as it's not gonna be worth much more than what it will cost you for the engine swap.
