Has anyone had an after market remote start installed on their 2003 X-Type?

 

I've been looking to have one installed but was quoted 400 because mine is a 5spd

 

I have not priced them yet, I wanted to make sure that it was a good idea first.

 

I would say that it would probably be a good idea especially in the winter. The reason I was looking at getting one for mine is so that I can start it while making coffee in the morning and when I go out to the car the engine temp is a little higher. Be careful of it in the summer though especially if you have had problems with your fan control module. If it overheats without you inside the car, it's just a disaster waiting to happen
