Question 2003 xtype awd issue

Hey guys and gals new to the forum. so hello hope all is well with everyone. ok to the point my buddy has an 03 xtype they recently took a trip to new mexico. when they got back the car seemed like the transmission was slipping so they took it to the dealer they got it from. passenger side cv shaft was broken. they replaced the shaft. well a couple days later they hear it popping same thing. this time he calls me and i go look at it today. i took passenger wheel off and i cant seem to find any play in the shaft at all. my buddy said the mechanic said their was a "carrier bearing" that was bad where the shaft went in. im not a jaguar certified mechanic but i cant find a carrier bearing or even see what he would be talking about. only thing i can see if the guy didnt use the clamp on the outside of the boot and grease is everywhere. not sure if it leaked alot of fluid when original shaft broke if the guy didnt get the shaft in right and it broke or isnt in. also i tried putting car in park and it would not go into park but key comes out of the ignition. any help is greatly appreciated thank you in advance

New info. Apparently the guy who looked at it before went back and put axle back in before I went and looked at it so when I looked at it it was back together and why nothing appeared out of normal? Why would when I drove it 2 feet and turned wheel would it pop back out? Ont thing I can think is the clip isn't in all the way?
