Question ABS light on....

Hi All,

I drive a 2003 X type 3.0 auto AWD, starting and driving is fine with no issues, however when I switch off the car and then start again within a few hours the ABS light comes on and stays on...... This happens all the time even after a few miles trip. The red light for the brakes comes on also.

Appreciate any help!

Could be abs sensors or reluctor rings need attention, Hand brake needs adjustment , Brake pads are worn past their reccomended limit . You may also get your EML light come on as the pute detects other warning lamps are on. A proper diagnostic check ( Cheap machines wont detect brake probs ) ...should point you in the right direction.

Apologies if its a daft question!

Depends on if they are front or rear rings . Rear rings are loctated on the drive shafts & front ones are located in with the front wheel bearings .. " Google " Jaguar X type Reluctor Rings ..Lots of firms who sell them , make them & fit them , should come up !!!

If its not rings , it could be sensors or sensor wiring harness /loom....

if it is more then one sensor. it could be your abs modular. I have the same problem and changed out all the sensors. The only thing left is to change out the unit itself. I am going to try that in a few weeks when I get time.

Good Luck,
The Dr!
