ATF Transmission Fluid, what to use?

ATF Transmission Fluid, what to use?
Which transmission fluid is the proper transmission fluid to use when doing a drain and refill?
I've read the "How to", but there are two posts and a few suggestions. Recommendations were using Redline MT-90 (50304), Mercon 5 ATF, Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle ATF, and Jatco WSS-M2C922-A1 or equivalent, which when I Google search the WSS number I get, among other things, Redline D4-ATF. I'm not sure if it matters which I use, I just don't want to get the wrong stuff. The MT-90 says its for a Manual and the D4, Mercon and Castrol are all for Automatic (ATF). I have an automatic, so it would seem to be a no brainer, but I prefer a little cautionary judgment considering the potential damage resulting from using the wrong fluid. Advice? What has everyone else used?Does it really make a difference?
I envision there being a super secret special proprietary gear oil that, if not specifically used, will cause my transmission to promptly self destruct and disintegrate into unrepairable pieces setting me back $2000-$4000 dollars.

I'm running Royal Purple Max ATF in both of my X Types. You can see the specifications here Max ATF | Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid | Royal Purple.
I have had excellent experiences with this ATF in my X's and my original transmission on my 02 X with 180,000 miles shifts like brand new still (fast and smooth). Another great thing is you can head to any local auto parts store and find lots of it in stock easily.

Aging post, I know, but I just wanted to let everyone know that Amsoil Signature Series Multi-Vehicle Synthetic states Idemitsu K17 compliance right on the bottle.
I know some people were either stuck on Jag Wonder Sauce or Syn-Go (which also reported compliance) because they couldn't find a definitive "YES, this is compliant" claim from the manufacturer.
So yeah, Amsoil for the win!

I changed the auto fluid on my X type just after I bought it last Sept and used Motul Multi Synthetic, but it didn't seem to change as smoothly afterwards, so last month I changed it again for Ravenol JF506E which is made specifically for the Jatco 506 box, it definitely seems happier with seamless shifts now.

I homed in on the Ravenol myself, but was turned off by the shipping cost and time it would take to ship (the Amsoil shipped quickly at no cost), as well as some translation errors on the website "It good product. It have good slipperiness".
I scrutinize pretty deeply though, most wouldn't even notice or care about that. I've read that it's a great product, and I liked that it reportedly is made specifically for this Jatco.

Good info guys, thanks for the feedback. It's nice to have a few more positive options. I had found this web address and they ship to the US for about $11.00. I haven't purchased any from this site yet, but figure I'd share if there are interested parties. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Its no doubt a poor translation from German to English, I was lucky as I had a friend who is a truck driver so he picked it up on his run across Europe so there were no shipping costs.
