lol, I posted that spec from that same site a few months ago.

Welcome to catch 22. Absolutely ridiculous. If I were living in England, I would definitely make a business out of horting Jatco fluid over here to the states for a premium (albeit less than what the dealership charges)!

So we're back to square 1, eh guys?!?

I'm afraid so buddy..I did my damndist to find a compatible substitute..but like you, I could not be convinced completely that it would be safe with something, other than the factory JATCO juice..Hang in there, we'll find a source one way or another

We have a few Jaguar Dealer techs here ..maybe one of them will do us afavor..maybe

How many quarts in a flush and fill? I might just go with the royal purple stuff and the valvoline for the transfer case

Total capacity is 8.7Qt but just draining will net you little over 4Qt, even draining overnight.

BTW, Mercon V is functionally equal to the Jatco fluid and the Castrol Import Car ATF has been cross referenced to Jatco: Castrol -> BMW -> Jatco.

My Dealer/Jaguar has moved off dead center on the "FILLED FOR LIFE " BullSH!T...They have a new system made by B&G and it flushes and conditions the transmission via cooler lines and installs a new B&G ATF fluid that is completely compatible and acceptable for the JATCO transmission..Backed up and guaranteed by B&G..They actually warranty the Transmission as long as you have the service done every 30,000 miles here after..Total cost for a complete flush and refill is $299.99...To me this would be well worth the dollars to have done...a whole hell of a lot cheaper than they once quoted me for the JATCO fluid change a year ago...
