car-part.com and just be done with it... Diffs don't go out all the time, but if you changed the oil, you're just going to be able to sue yourself. Sorry man

maikal, keep in mind that there are instances where bolts can loosen themselves up. I know what you are saying about during the fluid change and what gets taken apart and stuff like that. The big thing is unless you had a shop just recently do some work on the car, it is going to be a tough case to prove that work done years ago caused this. To many "but what about this" scenarios can be played. Bite the bullet and go from there. $1000 or so to have a new diff put in isn't too bad. Granted, which you were closer to me and we could save you $500 in labor. It isn't that hard to put one in. Just takes a little bit of time and effort.

Problem Solved:
$250 for 65000 miles rear differential
$577 for the labor cost for differential replacement + Transfer case
and Transmission fluid and labor

=$ 827 >>Car shifts like butter and runs like a mean cat

Glad we could help you out on this one! That's waaaay cheap for a rear diff too!
