battery drain
I have a 2 litre diesel x type 54 plate . the battery is flat in the morning ,had the aa out ,did a battery and alternator test a nd all fine ,but said their is a drain. had it to the garage could not find it but decided to disconnect the a/c as he had a brain wave .funny thing the car started next day , could it be the a/c relay , also does disconnecting the a/c also affect the central locking. any ideas

banksy, when you say that the A/C clutch was disconnected, what did he pull to remove power? If he disconnected it at the clutch itself, then that would say that you simply removed the load and the fault is still in the car. If he pulled the relay, then I would replace the A/C clutch relay and see if your problem goes away. It is possible that the relay stuck in the on position and that is causing the clutch to drain the battery over night.
As for all of this affecting the central locking system, there is no tie between the two. So, unless the mechanic undid something and didn't put it back together, it is just bad luck that these two things are happening together.
