I fry my nav system, I changed it modul from one other Jaguar XJ and I got screen to work again. Cd and did discs is not help to restore the old system to work. Sorry for my English
My jaguar s type navigation screen went blank nd I discovered dvd player missing in the luggage compartment, can this make the screen go blank.
Unfortunately yes, the dvd player has hardware that controls the screen and the climate control. not to mention all the software.
check Ebay for a replacement dvd player and you will also need a navigation disc.

Sorry guys I was off the forum for a long time and just check this threat. here is the file you will need to get rid of the blank screen.
1. Burn in a Dual layer DVD using the slowest speed.
2. Turn on car, insert disk.
3. Turn off car.
4. Turn on car and wait for it to start reading. It should come up automatically.
Hiya Im having exactly the same problem, but its only occurred since the battery died. The code is 50 51 C1, all the fuses & connections are fine, the cd would'nt eject initially but managed to eject it now. Can someone please HELP!!! Thankyou,

what year navigation disc do you have?
Make sure your battery has a full charge and have it Load tested our cars are extremely sensitive to a bad battery.
have it load tested and if its below 85% you will need a new one.
what was the problem with removing the disc?
does the disc spin up when the keys are in the ignition and turned so the dash lights come on?
if your battery is good try the Loading.kwi file fix.
the 50-51 error is loss of communication check the connections in the back of the unit then there is one under the back seat and also one by the pasanger side footwell (uk car) its green. then finally the screen.
Thankyou. Disc is 2003. Yes checked the connectors but was unable to get to the one under back seat, will check that though. Wasnt able to unclip the green one however will try again. The disc wouldnt eject but took the surround off and pressed the release mechanism. Your help is much appreciated

does the disc spin up when you start the car?
do you have power to the DVD unit in the trunk?
do you have anything else installed in the trunk amp, phone module etc....

No the unit in the boot isnt doing anything. Yes there;s power going to it (it was working perfectly before the battery died) No nothing else in the boot. Will be checking battery with tester early eve, will let you know. Can get the inspection screen up (press nav up nav up nav up audio audio audio)

Sounds to me like the DVD unit in the boot has failed.
perhaps if you know someone who has a working unit you could borrow it and see before getting a new one.

I am having a similar problem occur in my 2008 XK. The touchscreen has worked fine all this time, but on Monday it started looking like the below picture. Has anyone seen this or know how to get it working properly. Driving without any audio, navigation, or temperature control is tuff.
download,
burn with any software to a blank DVD and finalize.
Eject your nav disc and insert the loading.kwi disc
remove your keys for 30 seconds
start your car
everything should be ok after about 5-15 mins
