Default Blank Screen on 2003 X-type

Just bought my dream car, 2003 X-type. Only issue is the 2nd screen (the 1st screen shows the interior and exterior temp and the current climate control settings) is blank. Need direction on how/if this can be fixed and troubleshooting to see what the issue is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could the cause be a bad fuse, F20, F69, or F72?

Debbie, first off, welcome to the Forums. Lots of good information here. But, we do ask a small favor from you. Please stop by the New Member Section and tell us a little bit about yourself and your car. We pride ourselves in being a better car group and as part of this, we keep things friendly. As part of this, we like to get to know one another a litlte bit. This will also give you a chance to meet those that make this place what it is.

As for your problem, odds are, those fuses are not the source of your problem. I would day to first start with taking a flashlight and shining it along the surface of the lower screen when things start to get dark. Can you see any information on the screen when the radio is powered on? If yes, then your problem lies with the back lighting of the screen and most likely will require removing the radio and having a shop perform a repair to the radio. If not, then you have a problem internal to the radio and most likely no shop is going to have the equipment to properly diagnose the radio. So, you will be best served by finding a radio from the same year car with the same sorts of functions that your current radio has. Removing the radio is easy and since you are in the US, shouldn't require the need for any code for the radio. If you look on e-bay, you can find a bunch of radios there for fairly cheap.
