shop found brake booster hose cracked...thanks for all this advice

Yup, they crack also. Glad it was resolved.

these are basic vacuum problems due to heat under the hood

When you say "shop" do you mean your regular shop, a specialized independent or dealership?

Dennis Black...yes, that is the one you pointed out.
Mohrd...I have a specialized independantly own repair shop I always go to. They work on European cars as well as Vettes!

Purrrrfect. If they diagnosed the brake boost hose and didn't try and 'hose' you, sounds like a great shop to stay with.

Hi mate how is that pipe connected at the engine end. Mine looks like it's some kind of sealant.

Brake booster pipe. Mine has a T piece just to the right of the joint in the pic. Which has a small hose attached that disappears under the battery compartment. Is this some sort of breather pipe.
