A/C compresor broke off
I believe my a/c compresor has broken off. It looks like a pulley with 3 triangles circles. Sorry for my lack of knowledge on the proper names. I would like to k ow how to change it. My car makes loud noise and smell of burning rubber. I've worked on my car by myself before thank to this Jaguars Forum (oil pan, water pump and thermosthat) I would appreciate if I could get with this. Thank you in advance to all. Btw it's a 2.5, '03 x type

The clutch center is probably NOT broken but the retaining nut on the splined drive shaft is missing and the plate fell off.
I keep a clutch in stock for this reason. It is difficult to access but you can likely get the clutch drive plate, slide it on and install a LOCKNUT.
You can 'counter-hold the drive plate with LARGE PLIERS to tighten the nut.
If the original is lost, then a good-used one will work. New is a last resort as it is probably sold as an entire assy and you only need the outer drive plate.
Make sure the little metal spacer is still on the shaft before installing the plate. It is needed to provide the clutch plate 'gap' or clearance adjustment. They are sold in different thicknesses. The original is likely the correct size.
Here is a TSB for the S-Type compressor but the X400 is very similar. Use as a reference.
