I am thinking about swapping out my tranny and need to know two things. Can I use a newer transmission in my 02 3.0 X type ( vin WC33276), say on 04 or 05 model? Also someone said you have to remove the engine to take out the tranny, can anyone verify this horror story for me? I have access to a lift so I was planning on dropping it from underneath. The dealer said it charges 16 hrs of labor so that is leaning toward an engine removal for tranny swap, augghhh. AAMCO siad they would do it for about 800 but they may not know what is envolved. And if anyone has experience doing this let me know the ends and outs. Thanks
