Can Brake Fluid leak from Clutch and Brake Pedal ?

Hello,
I have an X-Type and have noticed some fluid drops on the clutch pedal. However, Jaguar have told me that the brake/clutch fluid is not connected to the clutch or brake pedals.
Can anyone confirmif the fluid is conected in any way to the pedals in the **** pit.
Thanks
Nick

It might be possible, if the master cylinders failed in an unusual way. I would think that someone that has experience with various auto fluids could identify the drops... hmm wonder if the dealer has this experience lol..
That is true about the Master Cylinder. The brake pedal pushes a plunger in the middle of the Booster into the Master Cylnder, and if there is a leak in the cylinder the vacuum draws it into the booster and over time it can leak in to the cab. The booster is mounted directly to the firewall and if it has plenty of fluid in it and the seal does not hold it will eventually leak in. I had to replace both once in another vehicle and when I removed it a lot of brake fluid poured out of the Booster and the seal was bad too. Brake fluid is hydraulic fluid per se, but the color will tell the truth. I can bet it is brake fluid, have seen it before leaking into the cab.

Im I right in saying that the clutch and brake pedals in the X-Type are connected by metal rodes into the cylinders. Can rust on these pedals cause any brake fluid to leak in. I am under the impression that these rods or connection do not have any brake fluid in them. Would this be correct ?
thanks guys

the master cylinders have fluid in them, and the rods and connecting links do not. But if the end seal on the master cylinder leaks, the fluid can drip along the rods and link and make its way until it drips somewhere.
Not sure what you are getting at. Grap a flashlight and look above the pedals...
this needs someone to get on their hands and knees (maybe on their back)to deal with..

It would be quite unusual, and certainly not likely, but anything is possible. Like bo said, get on your knees and touch the fluid. If it's oilly, it's brake fluid(or clutch fluid, depending on what pedal it comes from).
