Default Canadian 2004 X-Type DRL query

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me what is the normal status for DRL (daytime running lights) for a 2004 Canadian X-Type?
Should the low beam headlights always be on, or just the small (much dimmer) lights that are inside the high-beam headlight enclosure?

For the last two years, mine functioned as per the latter example, but after some recent electrical work (including cleaning many fuse box contacts, having the battery disconnected for some hours (ECU reset?)), now my lowbeams are on whenever the key is on...is this normal for this model?

I do not desire the new behaviour. For example, when driving through a campground at dark, I wish to be able to turn the lights off and not blind other campers. I'd prefer to have control over my headlights.

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Julz.

On the Canadian Jaguars ALL the lights are ON all the time (on more recent models, only when the transmission is out of PARK) - headlamps, sidelights, rear lights, license plate lights, and, depending on model year, the dash lights may also be on (on 2002 cars, for example, but not on 2005 and later cars - not sure about the 2004). So it is correct that your headlamps should be illuminated at all times when driving ... so you'll have to find a different solution for stealth entry to the provincial parks!
