Tony, it is sounding like you have a pin hole leak in the hose or the leak is coming from the surface where the thermostat connects to the hose (rubber may be worn/torn due to age and recently replacing the thermostat). So, I would just worry about replacing the hose and once you get it out, doing your investigation then to see if you can spot where your problem lies.
I been having a problem with my 02 s type 3.0 the fan is been louder than normal I did a coolant flush on an cleaned the raidiator change hoses an the fan sounds loud when I drive the car not when I start the car sounds normal but when I been driving for 20 minutes the fan sounds loud than normal
RIzo, I normally fans will get louder for only 2 reasons. The first being that the bearings are starting to go and they are simply making more noise, or 2) one of the fan blades has broken and now the fan is out of balance (which will lead to bearing failure if not taken care of soon). Either way, you are looking at a new fan assembly.
