Hi folks hope someone can help me with this, I have a 2002 x type 2.5 v6 it has the cassette type head unit and cd changer in the boot. Although the cd changer has power to it I.e ejecting etc, it seems like there is no connection/signal to the head unit,cd button doesn't do anything, changer doesn't scan through discs I have seen a couple of items like this on internet but can't make head nor tail of them, can anyone give me an idiots guide on how to fix this if possible, thanks in advance guys.

The electrical connector is attached or you would not have the magazine ejection. Is the D2B fibre optic cable properly attached?????????
Did the CDC work in the past and just stopped working??????

If it was added recently, then the Radio head unit must be configured for any 'add-ons'.

the cd player as far as i can tell has always been there, however, previous owner has tried to install a t605 handsfree without mmuch success as on of the devices inline fuses keeps blowing, could this have effected the cd changer? also can the head unit be reset in anyway so it could possibly let the h/u know that the cd changer is connected,

 

Yes it can, I believe a dealer has to do it.
