Default Changing to HID Headlight Units

HI, does anyone know what to do in order to change the Stock Halogen Headlights to Hid Headlight Units? My old Halogen Headlight units have 6 wires each and the new HID Units have 8 wires each. I am not sure where the two extra wires go to. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Without seeing the suppliers install directions it will be difficult to decide what wire goes where. Each supplier has their directions. If it will help below is a link where you can download the wiring diagram for your model car.

Jaguar _1, I know from off the top of my head that if you look at pins 8 and 10 of your halogen headlights, you will only have a single pin between the two. If you look on the HID units, you will have a pin in each spot. The HIDs require 2 ground connections due to the amount of current that they pull. I do not recall any other wiring differences, but then, I am remembering the wiring harnesses from memory, so, I might be wrong on the second additional wire.

Jaguar_1, I just looked at the diagrams and atleast for the 02-04 vehicles, you should only have 5 wires going to each headlight if you have the halogen bulbs (pins 1, 5, 7, 9, and 10). The HID headlights have 6 wires (pins 1, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10). So, the difference is pin 8 (contrary to pin 9 as I stated above, I was going off of memory). So, I would be curious what they are thinking you need 8 wires with the HID units. The nearest thing that I can think of is that they are running independent wires to each bulb in the headlight housing (there are 4 bulbs, which would make for 8 wires). But, if that is the case, then you have some major wiring ahead of you to make it work correctly which will also mean cutting your factory harness apart to make this work. I would have no problem with it, but how are you with wiring?

Just for reference, I have looked all the way up to 2007 and the wiring remains essentially the same (slight difference in the 2007, but that is insignificant in the operation of the HID headlights). If you have a diagram of what the lights are wanting you to do, let me know. I can help you make this work. The question then becomes whether you feel comfortable cutting your factory wiring harness.

Thank you for all your help! My mechanic has looked up the wire diagram and says that he can make it work, but thank you again for all your help!
