Talking Compressor Removal and Install

Hey Jag people. I've complete my task of installing a new compressor for my x-type 3.0. listed below is the step by step process i took to do this with pic to accommodate.

1. remove the serpentine belt. It helps to have a tensioner tool to release the tension pressure.

2. jack the vehicle up and support it securely on jack stands.

3. on the passenger side on the bottom you will see the compressor. there are a total of 4 stud bolts that secure the compressor to the engine.

4. remove the line that is bolted on the front of the compressor (size 12mm) and use a cloth to place in the a/c line to keep debris from entering the opening.

NOTE! BE SURE THE PRESSURE IS RELEASED FROM THE LINES BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE ANY LINES>

5. Remove the upper bolts first using a 13mm socket or ratchet wrench.

6. Remove the bottom bolts.

7. Take the belt off of the compressor pulley.

8. Disconnect the electrical connector.

9. slowly remove the compressor from the bottom.

Installation is opposite of removal.

Couple of notes on installation.

Make sure all the studs are in before you put the compressor back in to install b/c you will not have access to do this once you place the compressor in.

Also if you are using an after-market compressor like i did.
MAKE SURE YOU USE THE SPACERS B/C THE COMPRESSOR WILL NOT FIT!!!

Did you have to expel the Refrigerant first?
