Default Cooling Fans Not Working

The cooling fans are not working on my 2003 2.5 Auto. Stopped for gas Friday and when I started engine red light came on with hot engine message. Any suggestions what to look at to solve this problem?

Thanks

Think I've found the answer to my own question. I finally got my CD manual working on my new computer and located the cooling fan control module. Now to find out if it can be checked or if it is just a toss and replace item. I'm going to have the a/c checked today because it wasn/t working too good Saturday when to outside temp hit 97 degrees. A/c did fair on the interstate but in town was pretty sick. Maybe the place I'm going to will have information on the control module.

the ac was not working good b/c the fan has to cool the condensor or it generates too much pressure and will just shut the compressor off. It was fine on the highway due to the effect of the air pushing through it from moving. Fix the fan and i am willing to bet the a/c problem will disappear. No need in spending the extra money before you try it.

Going to have fans including control module and a/c checked out Wed. Nothing will be done until I'm satisfied with the checks.
I installed a temporary cooling fan in front of the radiator so there is cooling air moving through the radiator in traffic etc. so heat wasn't the problem with the a/c on Saturday because the engine temp was kept in the normal range. We'll see what the checks show and go from there.

a/c not working is due to o/c fan module
with the module you will be buying fans and housing as well 1 complete assy. fan module not available seperately anymore
you will also need the updated harness too

What I should have said was there wasn't a red warning light or hot engine message with my auxillary fan running. But I did forget to turn it on at first so heat did come up and since the temprature was close to 100 and traffic was slow it did take it awhile to cool down.

Great I guess if the module is the problem then that's going to put a big dent in the pocketbook. The a/c was doing quite well today with the temp close to 90 in town

A/C works OK as long as I turn on my add on fan early enough. A/C check out good, it is the fan control module that isbad and I found one online and should have it next week. I will be putting it in myself to save paying any more labor charges. I figure the money spent for the diagnosis was worth it because if it had been something else causing the problem I would have spent money on a module for nothing. They said what I got the new module for online was almost half of what the dealer wanted.
