Whatever you use must meet or exceed Idemitsu K17 spec, which is the JATCO spec.

Do a search..there is a million discussions threads on this subject.

Hey listen..I don't know if this is country wide yet or you are in the USA..but My dealer did a complete Drain- flush, Condition and Refill for $299.00..They used a new system that is warranteed for transmission failures after this service..It is good for 30,000 miles...It is a BG transmission service using a conditioner and synthetic fluid that beats the original fluid in performance and durabilty..Check it out..it's well worth the few dollars and a whole hell of a lot cheaper than the original fluid service...My transmission feels and acts like new.

Disclamer: I have no affiliation with BG products or their retailers...It is one of the best products out there though and Jaguar is happy to endorse them...at least my dealer tells me this, which is good enough for me.

Thank you for the info re: BG Trans. Service. I live in the states and will Google to find the service. I'll hold off on the Dextron VI and research. Happy Holiday the same.

Any recommendations on when the transmission fluid should be changed, and at what intervals? My car is close to 30,000 miles now, and I'm thinking it would be premature to do it now. Is it ok to wait to 50,000 miles?

Matt..I'm old school..But my dealer said between 30,000 and 40,000 miles would be a good time to change the transmission Fluid and then every 30,000 miles after this initial BG service I mentioned above.

EDIT: additionally..My dealer said..If your transmission is acting okay with no issues at this point in time of the BG flush and fill service..the likelihood of any premature transmission failure is slim..That's one reason I did mine at 33,000..Now I have piece of mind, because this BG system warrants the transmission for 30,000 miles and that's why you should get the service every 30,000 here after...
Heck, I doubt I will even have this car at 63,000 miles..
