Default Double Din Depth Limit for 2003 2.0 X-Type

Hi All,

Quick question, I know this topic has come up many a time but I am looking for the maximum depth Double Din unit I can buy without modifying the heating unit for my X-Type 2003 2l Petrol. I know I could fit a deeper unit anyway but I would like it to sit as flush as possible.

A few posts I have seen say around 7"(170mm) and others say around 4"(100mm). Could someone confirm what will correctly fit without modification.

Thanks in advance,
Darren

From what I have heard 150mm is the max you can go without any cutting!!!

While the dash was apart, I measured to be sure; to the front edge of the reinforcemet on the heater duct, 175mm (176.75, actually, 6.95 inches).

That'll be my next task.

That 1/4" is useful...it opens up a lot more options for me...
