Default Dragged home a stray CAT

I have been a long time member and active on the XK8 and XJ8 forums. Well it is time for a new adventure. Over the last weekend i stumbled on a stray 2002 X-Type NO START and adopted it for $600.00. A quick scan revealed MAF unplugged my score.

It has a few problems created by a serious case of owner neglect but seems to purr along and respond to a little gentle care. I look forward to spending time with all of the great folks in the X-Type group as she rehabilitates.

Once you drag a stray Kitty home, you need to keep it, and take care of it. They are nice uncomplicated cars, but change the transfer case fluid, and any other fluids you can see.....You know the drill.....See you on the XK8 forum......Be cool.....Mike

Jarrod, The interior is in excellent condition, once I got the candy and popcorn out of the back seats.

Update: Spent Saturday pulling off the upper manifold and swapping all of the cheap plugs for NGK Iridiums. Took her for a spin and pills hard alll the way thru the RPM range.

She wasn't please with the previous owner and took it out on them by shutting down the A/C. I will be checking fuses and pressures and putting that back in order and them it should be all smooth catting around until she has another tantrum.

Scheduled fluid changes for Wednesday ( transfer case and differential) along with fresh oil. She has a 120,750 miles and no maintenance records.

Nice find! Hope you get everything sorted quickly, easily and cheaply.

AS for the AC, search on here about the blend door issue. Might be as simple as that. At least worth a look before tearing into the AC system. Good luck!
